The magical senior season for Kenny Pickett continued on Wednesday, as the Pitt quarterback was named both the ACC Offensive and overall ACC Player of the Year.
Pickett rewrote the Pitt record books as he passed for 4,066 yards, 40 touchdowns and completed 67% of his passes. Those 40 touchdown passes are a new ACC regular season record and he joins Jameis Winston and Deshaun Winston as the only players to go over 4,000 yards passing.
Pickett received 52 of a possible 64 votes for the Player of the Year honor and 54 for the Offensive Player of the Year.
The last Pitt player to win both awards was running back James Conner back in 2014.
Congratulations to the young man, he had a historic season and positively impacted the program.
Best of luck to him in the future.
It’s great to see Kenny getting the recognition he deserves. I believe he should have as good a shot as anyone to win the Heisman but my better judgement thinks he is a big throw and comeback win against Miami away from having an actual chance at it.
Congratulations Kenny. You deserve it. 👍
Kenny is the poster pic for not leaving school early. As we see so many do and things dont work out.
Overjoyed. That Kid has made Leaps + Bounds.
