Report: Texas to Hire Pitt WR Coach Brennan Marion

Published

on

Tonight’s Peach Bowl looks as though it’s Brennan Marion’s last game with Pitt.

Matt Zenitz from On3Sports is reporting that Marion will be joining the Texas Longhorns. Zenitz reports that Marion has been hired as the new Texas wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator.

For the last week, reports out of Texas have indicated that Marion was Steve Sarkisian’s top choice to replace former wide receivers coach Andre Coleman.

If this report is accurate, Pat Narduzzi will be looking for a wide receivers coach for the second straight season. Marion joined the Panthers staff season, replacing Chris Beatty, who left to join the Los Angeles Chargers.

There goes Addison right behind him

Addison can not leave unless he enters the transfer portal. Why would he do that? Marion did not recruit him. Besides after next season Addison will jump to the pros because he will be eligible to do so. Your point has no merit or basis.

Pure comedy. Now tell us Krackerjack thinks. Then Dietrich. Then Terrence.

Maybe this was the reason Salem is OC this game

Narducci cannot seem to keep his Offensive Coordinators or his Wide Receiver coaches the past few years. Same Old Pitt, back to rebuilding again,

Good for him when you have good young coaches, you need to recognize their value. Tim Salem called a poor game and Bates defense is as tired as Keith Butler’s .Pitt’s defense is too predictable. I would not be surprised if Marion is not the last to leave.. This is what happens when the Head Coach thinks he is better than he is .Sometimes you need to change up.

I wonder if the Salem selection had something to do with this.
Losing a very good recruiter. And a very likable respected coach, has Keenan Thompson would say, “Whsts up wit dat?!”

no, it’s the opportunity to coach in the SEC at one of the top 5 programs in NCAA history in front of 100k rabid fans (and probably way more money). Duzz would be gone in a second if Texas offered him the head coaching job.

Who cares? 😂

People act like Marion is gold after one year at Pitt with a veteran QB and more talent in the WR room than any Pitt team in years. I’m sure Marion did some positive things here but there is also natural maturity with players to take into account. His amazing recruiting skills didn’t convince Camden Brown to join Pitt.

True! For heavens sake, he was there ONE year! and a WR coach at that. Winning programs lose assistants every year. That’s why it’s about the program, not individual coaches.
It’s hard to win with 1 first down in the second half, until the last drive int! Thank god we have USC QB coming in because last night was painful to watch our offense.
