Pitt QB Kenny Pickett Met with Steelers at Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. — Kenny Pickett’s comments about the Steelers caught on like an inferno around the Pittsburgh area. IF the guy from Pitt ends up going to the Steelers, things could take a crazy turn. However, outside of a talk with Mike Sullivan after practice, there is no confirmed contact between Pickett and the Steelers outside of their contact in the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

However, that changed on Wednesday when Pickett spoke to the media at the Senior Bowl in Mobile. When asked if he had formally met with the Steelers, Pickett noted that he indeed has formally met with the Steelers already in Mobile.

“I have met with the Steelers,” Pickett said.

As for his transition to Pittsburgh, Pickett would be excited to continue building relationships he already has in the city, while playing for what he calls his second home. It seems to be a badly kept secret at this point that the Steelers are a bit enamored by Pickett.

“It’s my second home,” Pickett said. “I’ve lived there for five years and loved every second of it. I met so many great people. The Steelers are right next door. I’d be able to build relationships in that city and continue to play for Pittsburgh.”

Whether Pickett actually falls to the Steelers is an entirely different story. Still, it seems both Pickett and the Steelers have a mutual interest in one another at this stage.

He will be long gone by the Steelers pick and there are so many holes on the Steelers team that trading picks probably isn’t an option.

I really don’t wish Kenny playing for the much overrated Tomlin and fast declining Stillers, who will be a marginal or worse team for the foreseeable future.
