University of Pittsburgh Junior, Cole Matthews has been named ACC Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season.
Matthews is currently on a nine match winning streak. His InterMat ranking jumped from 17 to eight this week after he handed University of North Carolina’s No. 6 Kizhan Clark his first loss of the season on Friday. Matthews then pinned Columbia’s No. 19 Matt Kazimir in 33 seconds on Sunday.

After Sunday’s match, Matthews said of his recent wins, “I think it’s just time and being consistent with the effort I bring into practice and how I carry myself through the week of training.”
Matthews was named ACC Wrestler of the Week back in January when he upset No. 3 Stevan Micic of Michigan.
Fans will get to watch Matthews wrestle at home one last time this season at the Fitzgerald Field House when the Panthers take on North Carolina State University at 7 p.m.
