Pitt Reaches Out to George Mason Transfer Guard Xavier Johnson

Published

on

On Wednesday night, the Pitt hoops staff reached out to another transfer guard, this time with a familiar name.

The staff reached out to Xavier Johnson, a former George Mason guard, sources told PSN. To be clear, this is not the same Xavier Johnson that left the Pitt program for Indiana last season.

This Johnson stands at 6-foot-1, and averaged 7.7 points per game, shooting 39% from the field and 34% from three-point range this season. The Germantown, Maryland native has two years of eligibility remaining.

He played three years at George Mason, scoring 511 total points and shooting 29% from three-point range across his career there.

I thought Capel said he was going to recruit better players.

Nice to see the usual suspects, or suspect, weigh in on this.
