It’s no secret that former Pitt wide receivers coach Brennan Marion and Texas are in hot pursuit of Jordan Addison, hosting the 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner on an official visit in Austin a week ago, and the saga is only heating up.
Texas players like Quinn Ewers and Bijan Robinson have been lobbying for Addison to commit to Texas, but it’s Marion — who has those close bonds with Addison from his time in Pittsburgh — who likely serves as the driving force.
And after a cryptic tweet from Marion Tuesday afternoon, Kenny Pickett decided to call it for what it was.

“We get it (Brennan Marion), you like (Jordan Addison) …” Pickett quote tweeted Marion.
Marion was quick to reply to Pickett, writing, “KP you are still my favorite!!! Go do it big for the hometown team!!! Here We Go!!”
It’s nothing to really write home about, as Pickett and Marion shared pleasantries on Twitter under the post, but it is the first time that Pickett has really addressed Addison’s Pitt exit since he entered the transfer portal earlier this month.
Marion spent one season as Pitt’s wide receivers coach, arriving after spending one season in the same role at Hawaii, and he accepted an offer to coach the same position at Texas earlier this year. With Marion’s role at Texas and a seemingly endless checkbook, it’s unsurprising that the Longhorns have already hosted Addison and expect to factor into the final decision.
It remains to be seen exactly where Addison will play in 2022, but the social media drama is sure to continue.
