Twitter Reaction: 4-Star QB Kenny Minchey Decommits From Pitt

Published

on

Kenny Minchey, Pitt’s four-star quarterback commit in the class of 2023, has officially decommited.

Minchey was the crown jewel of Pitt’s current class, an Elite 11 quarterback who really exploded on the national scene following his commitment to Pitt on May 30. Now it appears that he is destined for Marcus Freeman’s Notre Dame.

Pitt’s 2023 recruiting class wasn’t headlined by a bunch of four-star recruits, but Minchey was the clear top recruit in the class — and the lone quarterback commit. It’s back to the drawing board for Pitt now with just over a month until National Signing Day.

Ouch. Fortunately PITT has an offer to a guy who looks pretty good on tape from Georgia who is uncommitted yet (C.Houck). We also ha an offer to a Liberty commit named Hank Brown that might come back into play. Otherwise it is unclear why PITT did not recruit the guy out of Milford Academy in New York, Ryan Browne, a Purdue commit. He looks great on video on MaxPreps and his background from Florida play was impressive. BTW Minchey has been hurt (shoulder) since week 4 of the HS football season.

Read that he returned to action for the playoffs. Played in the first game, then left the field in the first quarter of the next game with a shoulder injury…damaged goods?

We play Notre Dame in 2023 and 2025. Introduce to him to Coach Partridge’s defensive line and Randy Bates’ line-backers. Provided we can stop the Run.

Well you can talk crap on Narduzzi. One of the many things he does well is loyalty. WR went to USC, was all about PITT in his response. #7 WR transfer portal a few weeks back, was asked about him, his response was ask #7 and he was about the guys in our locker room. Does not mention injuries in detail. I like that when the DB asked to Visit UNC he was asked to decommitt, same goes with Zipperer with Utah. And now Minchey, after Minchey suggested enrolling early. I would not out it past this Staff that he… Read more »

Can’t imagine why he wouldn’t want to play in a run first dink and dunk offense.

Pat will want to keep Slovis for another miserable season.

Slovis, Narduzzi, and Cignetti need to go.

Can’t beat crap teams like GT or Louisville yet that big mouth want s to tell us he can win the a Big 10?

F off Pat.

I think it’s time to give Nate Yarnell a real shot. He showed accuracy, poise, and leadership in his start against W. Michigan. He also seems like a great, and loyal, kid.

Cignetti has a proven track record of poor QB development. His offensive GA is a joke too. Cignetti has always had great talent, but when he coaches them, they do not make progress.
Also, players do not feel good about playing for Cignetti. Recruits have contact with players on teams the visit. They know what’s going on at Patt and at ND more than we do.

I hope Pat Narduzzi does the players right by replacing Cignetti.
