Pitt Lacrosse Releases their 2023 Schedule

Pitt lacrosse released their 2023 schedule on Thursday, which features many tough opponents as the program readies itself for its second year of existence.

The Panthers finished their inaugural season in 2022 9-10 overall and 1-7 in ACC play, which also featured a win over Louisville in the ACC Tournament.

Their 2023 schedule features 10 teams that finished in the RPI top 50 schools in 2022 and six teams that made the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Pitt starts out with three road non-conference matchups against rival Duquesne on Feb. 11, Binghamton on Feb. 16 and Siena on Feb. 19, who they played last year.

They then play their first two games at Highmark stadium, kicking off ACC play against rival Syracuse on Feb. 25 and then Canisius on Feb. 28.

Pitt plays two more road game against rival Louisville on March 5 and then Virginia Tech on March 11. They then take on five straight opponents at home in Liberty on March 16, Virginia on March 18, rival Penn State on March 21, Duke on March 26 and then Youngstown Sate on March 28.Β The two matchups against Liberty and Youngstown State will be the first ever for Pitt.

Pitt finishes up their regular season in April. They start with two straight road games against Boston College on April 1 and North Carolina on April 7, their final home game against rival Notre Dame on April 14 and then Clemson on the road on April 20. That matchup with Clemson is the first ever for Pitt as Clemson is playing their inaugural season in 2023.

The ACC Tournament takes place April 23-30. The first game featuring the No. 8 vs. No. 9 seeds on the campus of the No. 8 seed and then the quarterfinals, semifinals and final take place at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
