Pitt DT David Green Will Utilize Covid-19 Eligibility and Return for 2023 Season

The defensive line has taken some hits with as key linemen and ends have either declared for the NFL Draft or hit the transfer portal, but a key cog inside will be back next season.

David Green announced via Twitter Friday afternoon that he will be utilizing his COVID-19 eligibility and returning for his super senior season in 2023.

“They counted us out. They didn’t think we would make it. They didn’t believe in us. But the man above did. Let’s run it back for one more dance,” Green wrote in his Twitter post.

Green played in all 14 games last season, rotating as a starting defensive lineman with Devin Danielson (who has yet to announce his intentions for 2023) alongside Calijah Kancey.

He racked up 410 defensive snaps in 2022, grading out as an above-average run-stopper. He recorded 22 tackles (11 solo), 4.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass breakup last season.

In a career where he’s graded higher and higher each season, Green has racked up 59 tackles (31 solo), 10.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, a forced fumble and two pass breakups.

The 2022 season was a sort of ‘coming out party’ for Green, and his veteran leadership and production will be highly valued additions to the 2023 defensive line group.

Danielson, Tyler Bentley and Chris Maloney are also expected to announce their decisions when it comes to utilizing added eligibility sooner rather than later.

Green’s decision, no matter the outcome of his peers, is a key veteran addition to the roster.

You showed much class making fun of a college athlete that is excited to remain a Pitt Panther for one final season.

You tough enough to mock David Green to his face instead of just in the comments section? 🤷‍♂️

Of course not. He would be terrified of David Green. He is your typical PSU milkman. Keyboard tough guy with no real guts. That is why he continues to post here as he says “ he is just razzing Pitt fans”. He mocks the Sun bowl even though that same UCLA team beat Utah. The same team he was orgasmic over when PSU beat them in the Third place Big 10 Rose Bowl.

I know it’s very hard, but please ignore the jackass OCSP and maybe he will go away. He just craves attention in his very meaningless life and is very lonely.
