While official visits don’t start until the first weekend of June, Pitt will be hosting an interesting prospect later this week.
2024 quarterback Drew Devillier (Plano, Texas) tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he will be in Pittsburgh for an unofficial visit on May 20.
“I’m going to Pitt primarily because I want to visit the campus and take a look at the facilities,” said Devillier. “It just happens to work out that Elite 11 is at State College. I’m looking forward to furthering my relationship with the coaching staff and getting a gauge of whether the environment is right for me.”
“I’ve spoken to the quarterback coach Jonathan DiBiaso several times since he offered me, and I think we’ve built a pretty solid relationship. I also got to meet Coach Cignetti a few weeks back at my school. It was about 30 minutes long and he asked me some questions about football and about me, then he saw me throw which I thought went well overall.”
Devillier is in a unique position because not only is he a Division I quarterback prospect but the 6-foot-6, 205-pounder has already given a verbal commitment to play baseball at TCU.
The talented two-sport star is still trying to figure out which sport he’ll eventually play in college and plans to do so by the end of the summer.
Until then, Devillier plans on preparing for the upcoming football season and talks to PSN about what the rest of his summer will consist of.
“After this weekend, I’m planning on going to the Pitt football camp in June, and still working on locking up the rest of my schedule, but most likely will be going to UNT for a visit as well,” said Devillier. “I plan to make my decision by the end of the summer, so I can focus on my sports separately without the weight of that in my head.
At this point, Pitt is Devillier’s only Power Five offer but that could change following his performance at the upcoming Elite 11 camp on May 22.
