Former Pitt guard Nelly Cummings has signed with an agent and is currently working to continue his basketball career professionally.

Cummings told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he will compete in a pre-draft workout for the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, May 23. The 6-foot guard out of Midland, PA, starred for Pitt this year in his lone year playing college ball in Pittsburgh.

In 36 games, Cummings played over 32 minutes per game, scoring 11.1 points, dishing out 4.8 assists, and grabbing 2.6 rebounds per game. The Colgate transfer shot 36% from three-point range, instantly becoming a valuable piece of Pitt’s first NCAA Tournament Team since 2016.

Cummings scored 15 points in Pitt’s First Four NCAA Tournament game against Mississippi State and followed that performance up with 13 against Iowa State in Pitt’s Round of 64 win. He finished his season with nine points against Xavier.

Since his time at Pitt, Cummings competed in the NTX Combine, a pre-draft workout in Texas. He is represented by NBA agent Lin Huynh of JCK Sports Group.
