WATCH: Duquesne Football Seeks To Clinch Solo NEC Title On Senior Day

Published

on

This year’s Duquesne Football senior day carries some extra weight as a victory over Stonehill would secure the NEC title and bid into the FCS Playoffs.

Duquesne is off to its best start as NEC members, with a 5-0 record to show for it. Last week’s game, a 34-26 victory at Wagner secured a share, the ninth conference title in 19 years under coach Jerry Schmitt.

Thus far, the Dukes have scored at least 27 points in each conference game, averaging a league-best 34.8 a game with a scoring margin of +65.

Earlier in the week, PSN’s Zachary Weiss caught up with Schmitt and graduate student defensive lineman Ryan Lopez to feel the temperature of the team as it prepared for Saturday’s game.
