Pitt is looking to add some veteran presence to its 2024 secondary, in particular at cornerback where Marquis Williams and A.J. Woods have exhausted their eligibility and M.J. Devonshire is expected to depart for the NFL Draft.

Pitt extended an offer to Bucknell cornerback Ethan Robinson Monday morning, jumping into the fold for a veteran defensive back.

Robinson has one season of eligibility remaining at his next location after a lengthy career at Bucknell. In his time with the Bison, he played in 31 games and registered 154 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception and 25 pass breakups.

Along with Pitt, Robinson has also picked up offers from Central Florida, Arizona State, Memphis, Buffalo, Liberty and UMass.

Pitt will likely be forced to turn to all new cornerbacks in 2024, with Ryland Gandy receiving extra snaps in the last couple of 2023 and Tamarion Crumpley and Noah Biglow expected to complement him.

The safety trio of Javon McIntyre, Donovan McMillon and P.J. O’Brien Jr. provides excellent coverage on the backend, but the cornerbacks could use a veteran presence to help integrate the young, inexperienced corners.
