The New York Giants may not have turned a Jason Pinnock interception into any points, but the former Pitt star was impactful for the Giants once again in a win.

Pinnock — a third-year cornerback out of Pitt — picked off Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love in the second quarter of Monday Night Football, jumping a ball intended for Packers wideout Dontayvion Wicks and returning it for a few yards.

The pick didn’t result in any points, but Pinnock helped lead the Giants to a come-from-behind 24-22 win over the Packers Monday night at MetLife Stadium.

Pinnock recorded four tackles (all solo) and an interception in the win, continuing a strong season for the Giants.

In 13 games this season, Pinnock has recorded 69 tackles (47 solo), five tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions (one returned 102 yards for a touchdown), four pass breakups and a forced fumble.

And in nearly three NFL seasons, Pinnock has recorded 106 tackles (91 solo), seven tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions (one for a touchdown), eight pass breakups, four forced fumbles and one recovery in 39 games between the New York Jets and Giants.

As a spot starter with the Giants in 2022, after the Giants claimed him before the start of the season, he recorded 41 tackles (34 solo), two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and three pass breakups as he roamed the defensive secondary.

He’s currently in the midst of a breakout season for the Giants this season, serving as yet another Pitt cornerback making an impact in the NFL.

Pinnock was initially selected by the Jets with the 175th pick (fifth round) in the 2021 NFL Draft, coming off a strong senior season at Pitt in 2020.

In four seasons at Pitt, he recorded 54 tackles (45 solo), 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, six interceptions, 19 pass breakups and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

In his senior season, Pinnock started all 10 games and recorded a team-high three interceptions, five pass breakups and 19 tackles. Per Pro Football Focus, only 30% of passes attempted against him were completed, which was the lowest among cornerbacks in the 2020 season.
