Central Valley OL out of WPIAL Brendan Alexander

Central Valley’s Brendan Alexander is one of the top prospects in the WPIAL in the class of 2026, and Pitt has taken notice.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound athlete (offensive and defensive line) will be the next player from Mark Lyons’ football factory at Central Valley to go on to play Division I football.

Alexander received his most recent offer Friday morning, and it came from Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt Panthers. Alexander now holds offers from Pitt, Penn State, Duke, North Carolina State and Central Michigan.

“This morning, I was in class doing my work when I got called to the office of my AD Sam Cercone, and he informed me that I got offered by Pitt,” Alexander told PSN. “They liked my film; they also liked my size and how well I moved. I was excited and I couldn’t believe it. It’s really a blessing to even be in the position for a school like Pitt, that I have always watched growing up, to offer me. It’s just God’s blessing and I give it all to God.”

With the success of the Central Valley program in terms of producing elite athletes, Cory Sanders and the Pitt staff have been making more and more visits to Beaver County. Over the last few years, Pitt has been able to land former Central Valley stars like Sean FitzSimmons, Stephon Hall and Jordan Whitehead, and there’s a hope that Alexander eventually strengthens the CV-to-Pitt pipeline.

“Pitt’s program has always been a high standard in the Central Valley football program, so getting offered from Pitt is truly amazing,” said Alexander. “The pipeline from Central Valley football to Pitt is amazing and it’s giving our guys an opportunity to play at the next level. Growing up, I always looked up to those guys. Just watching Steph and Sean when I was five years old when my dad coached them inspired me, they paved the way for the Pitt/Central Valley pipeline.”

Alexander’s status as a sophomore with multiple Power Five offers indicates just how highly schools view him to this point in his recruiting process, and it’s likely he will continue to blow up. Alexander himself is excited for what’s ahead.

“I really am excited, and I’ve been blessed for this opportunity to display what God has gifted me with,” Alexander said. “My brother and family have helped me a lot with being the best and keeping my head on the right path through this whole process. ‘Dawg House Recruits’ has really helped me get noticed so I’m thankful to be in this opportunity.”
