Pittsburgh’s top-ranked high-school basketball talent has scheduled another big-time visit.
Meleek Thomas, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Lincoln Park, will take an official visit to Kentucky, according to Joe Tipton of On3. Thomas has had a stellar junior season so far for Lincoln Park that included a triple-double performance in late December in front of Kentucky’s head coach John Calipari, a fellow Western Pennsylvania native.
Calipari, a Moon Township, PA native, has had his eye on Thomas for a while now. He offered Thomas back in April 2023. Calipari has one Western Pennsylvania native on roster at the moment — Quaker Valley’s Adou Thiero. Thiero is now standing at 6-foot-8, and is averaging 7.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.
Thomas recently took his first official visit — to Auburn. He released a top 12 schools list in September, including Auburn, Kansas State, Villanova, Kentucky, Pitt, Indiana, Duke, Kansas, Tennessee, UConn, Michigan, and Miami. Thomas has attended several Pitt basketball games this year, sitting behind the Panthers’ basket and supporting the home town team.
