Drake and J. Cole were in town over the weekend for a concert at PPG Paints Arena, and both superstar rappers did their share of repping Pitt athletics.

A couple of days after J. Cole spent time with Jeff Capel and the crew at the Petersen Events Center, Drake was posted on social media repping a throwback Pitt Panthers football jersey.

DJ Akademiks posted a photo of Drake and fellow rapper Fridayy on Instagram Sunday night, the same night as Drake’s first show at PPG Paints Arena.

Drake is one of the most famous artists in the world, and the rapper and hip-hop star has won five Grammy Awards and is the highest-certified digital singles artist in the United States. He’s known for songs like One Dance, Hotline Bling, Best I Ever Had, The Motto and Nice For What, amongst others.

The tour continues into Ohio early this week, with stops in Columbus and Cleveland after two nights in Pittsburgh over the weekend.

It’s just the continuation of the positive vibes around Pitt athletics, especially Pitt basketball, over the last couple of weeks. The Panthers are firmly on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament following five consecutive ACC wins.

Positive vibes are good. Let this not be euphoria. Lots of basketball games to be played just to get to the dance.
