Could Pitt and Duquesne play each other this year?
Possibly, but most-likely not, says NITBracketology.com. In the site’s latest NIT bracketology prediction, Pitt was in the NIT field as a No. 2 seed while Duquesne was listed in the “Also Looked At” category.
Duquesne basketball on Pittsburgh Sports Now is sponsored by The Summit Academy: setting young men on the path to a better future.
Pitt is currently 19-10 on the season and 10-8 in ACC play. The Panthers own a strong 7-4 road record including ranked wins over Duke and Virginia. Pitt is coming off a dominant victory over Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and will take on 9-9 Florida State on Tuesday night at 9 p.m.
Duquesne sits at 18-11 and 8-8 in Atlantic 10 play. The Dukes have strung together two-straight wins, beating La Salle and George Mason last week. On Tuesday, the Dukes will take on VCU in another big A10 battle on the road. To wrap up the regular season, Duquesne will return home to play against George Washington on Saturday, March 9.
A City NIT game would be great! No way for Capel to duck it!
Looks like you have to beat VCU to get into the NIT. Good Luck
I would guess they need to win out in regular season and 2 in A-10 to be legitimately considered……..
Now what?
In spite of the x-spurts (unknown quantity under pressure), we will be dancing. The tournament committee will ignore Lunardi et al and include WF, Clemson, Pitt and Syracuse. All those “Cinderellas” can go to NYC.
LOL………
