Duquesne senior guards in Jimmy Clark III and Dae Dae Grant both received Atlantic-10 regular season honors for their outstanding play this season on Tuesday.

Both players made the All-Conference Second Team, with Grant doing so for the second straight season. Clark also made it onto the All-Defensive Team for the second straight season, along with his first season on an A-10 Team.

Grant led the Dukes and finished sixth overall in the A-10 averaging a career-high 16.7 points per game. He is also one of the best free throw shooters in the country, missing only six free throws all year out of 138 attempts for a 95.65% clip, second best in Division I.

He also excels from behind the arc, averaging 2.4 3-pointers per game, ranked tied for No. 5 in the conference.

Clark finished second on Duquesne and ranked tied for No. 12 in the Atlantic-10 scoring a career-high 15.1 points per game.

One of the best at forcing turnovers in the conference, Clark made 78 steals in the regular season, averaging an A-10 best of 2.3 per game. He had a season-high of six steals in home wins over Saint Peter’s on Dec. 8 and Saint Louis on Feb. 20.

Clark also stepped up with his distribution for the Dukes, averaging 3.8 assists per game, leading his team and ranked tied for No. 7 in the A-10.

The duo has showed the benefits of the transfer portal for head coach Keith Dambrot and Duquesne these past two seasons, since they joined in the summer of 2022. Grant came from Miami (Ohio) and Clark, who started off his career at A-10 foe VCU, arrived from Northwest Florida at the Junior College level.

Duquesne has played great basketball as of late, winning 11 of their past 14 games overall, 10 of their last 13 A-10 games and six of their last seven contests to finish 20-11 overall and 10-8 in conference play, after starting 9-8 overall and losing their first five conference games.

This made it back-to-back seasons for the Dukes with 20 wins for the first time in 50 years, and big part of that is credit to the performances of Grant and Clark, who are in their final year of eligibility.

Duquesne finishes with the No. 6 seed in the upcoming A-10 Tournament at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. starting Tuesday through next Sunday, March 17. They will play the winner of No. 11 Rhode Island vs. No. 14 Saint Louis, Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Second Round on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
