WATCH: Chucky Hepburn Steals the Show Against Pitt

In the first half of Pitt’s game against Louisville, Cardinals’ guard Chucky Hepburn stole the show.
Hepburn scored the most points in any half by an ACC player this season, according to the ESPN2 broadcast. Hepburn made all six of his three-point attempts in the half, catching fire from downtown against the Panthers. Several of his buckets came in the final minutes of the half, in which Louisville made eight of nine field-goal attempts.

However, the Panthers stuck around with Louisville in the half, and went into the break trailing by just six: 39-33. Hepburn actually missed a layup at the end of the half that would have given him 26 points, too. He finished the frame with 24 points on 7 for 9 shooting, going 6 for 6 from three and 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. While Louisville shot 69% from three in the half, the Panthers shot just 31% from deep.
Pitt looked to Jaland Lowe for first-half production. The sophomore guard turned in 12 points on 5 for 9 shooting, including one three pointer. The Panthers grabbed 16 rebounds to Louisville’s 16. Pitt also forced six Louisville turnovers, and scored nine points off of those turnovers. Stay tuned for more on Pittsburgh Sports Now regarding the Pitt Vs. Louisville game and the rest of Pitt’s season.
Hepburn, a Wisconsin transfer, was just 2 for 8 from three in the first matchup between Pitt and Louisville this season. He finished that game with 15 points, going 5 for 16 from the field. However, his teammate, Reyne Smith, exploded for seven threes in that game as Louisville earned a huge win at the Petersen Events Center.
