Along with Pitt, Lichtenstein currently holds 17 other offers, including ones from Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Temple and West Virginia.

“I need to find a school that is elite academically and athletically.   I’m w winner, I need a winning team.  Also, my family will be a influence in my decision.”

So what about Pitt? Was the offer a surprise or not?

“I was very excited about the offer”, said Lichtenstein.  “I’ve been talking to them for a little bit, I knew they had interest.  Coach Salem offered me and told me they want me, they need me and they have to have me.”

So is Pitt going to be someplace that Lichtenstein is going to take seriously ?

“Definitely!! I haven’t thought yet about visits although I think I’ll make it up (to Pittsburgh) this summer.  I’m visiting Georgia Tech in a week and I’m going to Kentucky’s spring game. I’m fitting in my other visits in the spring and summer.”
