Alexandre Likes Offer From Pitt

A few years back, the Pitt football coaches spotted a player from Florida that wasn’t heavily recruited and Greg Romeus turned into a very good player that got drafted by the New Orleans Saints.

Last week, the Pitt coaches offered a Florida player that’s only been playing football for one season. Before this, Alexander was a basketball player in Florida. Another diamond in the rough?

Deslin Alexander, a 6-5, 235 pound defensive end from Deerfield Beach, Florida received an offer last week that Pitt wanted him to be a future Panther.

“Coach Salem offered and I received the news from my head coach”, said Alexander.  “Me and the Pitt coaches have been talking for a while. It was huge to get a ACC offer.”

Alexander now has offers from Pitt, Temple , Buffalo, Ohio, Southern Miss, Bowling green , FAU,  Fresno State , NC State , Syracuse, Pittsburgh , Rutgers and South Florida.

“I’m considering Pitt . They like my speed , my ability to get around the edge.  I might be doing a summer tour of schools (with his high school coaches), I’m not sure yet.”

Alexander tells me tonight that Pitt defensive coordinator Josh Conklin stopped by his practice today to watch him.
