Sibley Flips From Ohio State To Pitt

For the second time today, the “Pat Signal” went out over Twitter and Pitt landed themselves a really good player.

Four-star back Todd Sibley (Akron, Ohio) officially flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Pitt. Sibley is rated as one of the Top 20 running backs in the country and further strengthens the Panthers depth at the position.

Sibley was Urban Meyers first commitment this year but after Ohio State started talking grey-shirt with him, Sibley decided to look elsewhere and Pitt entered the picture.

Just minutes ago, Sibley announced on Twitter that although this is a difficult decision, he needed to make the best decision for his future.

“Thank you God for giving me this opportunity and thank you to all my close friends and family for being with me! I’m officially de-committing from Ohio State and committing to the University of Pittsburgh. Coach Narduzzi I’m headed your way! It’s the beginning of something special I promise! REMEMBER MY NAME#XXIII #PITT IS IT!!

UPDATE (3:57 PM)-
**More on the commitment of Todd Sibley to Pitt. I just spoke to his offensive coordinator/RB coach at Archbishop Hoban HS in Akron Drew Sarachman and asked him the type of player and person that Pitt is getting with Sibley?

“First and foremost, Todd is the type of kid you would want your son to grow up to be like. He is intelligent, kind, polite and hard working. As a football player, he is equally a role model for his teammates. He focuses on the little things and the fundamentals. He’s ahead of his age when it comes to ball security, blocking and knowledge of the entire offense rather than just his individual responsibility. Those things to go along with his tremendous talent is what sets him apart from other top backs in the my opinion. There is no doubt in my mind that he will continue to improve and have a great career at Pitt.”
