Pitt FB Recruiting

Michigan CB Visiting Pitt

Jamal Allen is a player that’s being looked at by many Power 5 teams. To this point, Kentucky is the only Power 5 school to offer him. However, this could be a case of as soon as one offer comes in many are likely to follow.

Allen (6-0, 196) is a senior cornerback from Churchill High in Livonia, Michigan. He tells me that he holds offers from Toledo, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Miami of Ohio, Kent State and Ohio.  Schools that are showing interest and could offer are Michigan State, Louisville, Mississippi State, West Virginia, Penn State and Syracuse. Pitt is another school that is scouting him and will do so this weekend when he visits the South Side.

“I’ve been wanting to visit Pitt for a while now. I’ve been in contact with them for a while and have been trying to schedule something for me to make a trip down,” said Allen.

Allen knows all about Pat Narduzzi and his reputation on defense and knows if he impresses the coaches that it could lead to another big offer.

“I wouldn’t say I’m a bit nervous but I hope to try and get an offer from Pitt. It would definitely put them in the mix and close to the top. I’m very interested in Pitt,” said Allen.

“The Pitt coaches all say they like my size and my ball ability and speed. They hope to get work with me and build a relationship, so I’m really looking forward to that.”

“I’m just really looking forward to getting a tour of the facility and to build a relationship with the coaches,” said Allen.

With the de-commitment of Johnstown cornerback Exree Loe, Pitt has another spot for a cornerback. Will Allen show enough to earn an offer?

Led by defensive line coach Tom Sims, the state of Michigan is a place that Pitt continues to recruit. In the Class of 2017, Pitt has offered these athletes from Michigan: WR Kahlee Hamler, DE Deron Irving-Bey, LB Joshua Ross, LB Antjuan Simmons, CB Ambry Thomas, CB Donovan Johnson, S Jaylen Kelly-Powell, Athlete Scott Nelson and OT Jordan Reid.
