A couple of days ago, I hinted that I thought Pitt would get a verbal commitment this week and yesterday Ohio DE Carson Van Lynn joined the Panthers recruiting class. Pitt is expected to host quite a few prospects this weekend so getting another commitment isn’t out of the question.
**Florida DE Jacob Lichtenstein spoke with Kelly Quinlan of Georgia Tech/Rivals and updated his recruitment. Lichtenstein told Quinlan that he’s down to 6 teams and they are: California, USC, Virginia, Pitt, Alabama and Georgia Tech.

Lichtenstein told Rivals that Pitt made it because of “A great program with great coaches. I have family in Pittsburgh and it’s a program that I can see myself fitting in.”
UPDATE (10:14 AM)-
**I’m in the process of contacting MANY recruits to see if they plan on visiting Pitt this weekend. I’m going to list the players that are coming and will update this as I hear back from the players.
–Fairfield, Ohio cornerback Josiah Scott, who has Pitt, West Virginia and Iowa in his Top 3.
“This weekend I’ll be able to connect with the coaches once I start talking to them. I’m really not looking at anything particular when I go there, I just want to learn as much as possible. No matter what, I’ll still give the other two schools a chance to impress before I make my decision so I know I’m picking the right school,” said Scott.
UPDATE (10:23 AM)-
**Columbus, Ohio defensive tackle Derrius Mullins will be in Pittsburgh over the weekend. Currently, Mullins has Pitt, Indiana, Purdue and West Virginia as his top schools, with Indiana as the leader.
**Offensive guard Joshua Fedd-Jackson from Montvale, New Jersey is checking out the Panthers. Fedd-Jackson (6-3, 305) has offers from Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Rutgers and Syracuse.
“I have to meet the Pitt coaches because I’ve never met them before and this will be my first time on campus, so I’m just looking to find a feel for the school,” said Fedd-Jackson.
UPDATE (10:45 AM)-
**As we reported a couple of days ago, Jarell White (Cincinnati, Ohio) will be on campus. The 4-star athlete tells me that he’ll be in Pittsburgh on Saturday and Sunday.
UPDATE (8:59 PM)-
**Plum freshman wide receiver Rahmon Hart will be visiting Pitt this weekend. I wouldn’t be shocked if Pitt offered him a scholarship.
UPDATE (9:11 PM)-
**Another 2019 recruit will be camping at Pitt this weekend. Penn Hills RB/LB Tank Smith has been invited and will workout this weekend.
