Paris Ford Wants Pitt to be ‘The Real DB U’

“Man, I can’t believe it, it seems like I was just a freshman now it’s my senior year.”

Steel Valley star WR/CB Paris Ford is preparing for his last high school camp before he takes his talent across town to Pitt. But, before he starts college, Ford has things left to accomplish in high school.

“Every practice counts, every snap, I’m taking everything real personal right now. I’m just really focused for my last ride.”

As you probably know by now, Ford transferred from Seton LaSalle to Steel Valley to team with star running back DeWayne Murray. The dynamic duo should make the school one of the teams to beat in Class AA.

“I’m real excited because I’ve played with most of these guys in my 7th and 8th grade year. It will be fun to be playing with them again. We all have the same mindset of winning a state championship. We just have to build that bond and continuity,” said Ford.

Speaking of building, Ford is excited what his future college coach is building and thinks a championship is on the horizon.

“He’s (Pat Narduzzi) getting them ready to win the ACC this year. A lot of people don’t believe that but I think they have a good shot at it,” Ford told me.

Ford is a 4-star safety that will no doubt have an immediate impact on the Pitt defense. Until then, he’s trying to have an impact on Pitt’s 2017 recruiting class.

“Once Pitt offers a kid, I always follow them on Twitter and then give them my number,” said Ford. “I was just talking to Devin Street about 20 minutes ago . Him and I are building a real strong bond. Everybody that has a Pitt offer, I’m on them.”

Two of the recruits that he’s “on” for Pitt are the two names everyone in the recruiting world are talking about, Lamont Wade and Donovan Jeter.

“I call them and treat them like any other recruit, those guys are definitely high talent players. I’m always trying to tell them come home, stay home, let’s do this.  I’m that type of guy, but at the end of the day, they’re going to do what’s best for them but I’m going to do everything I can to pull them to Pitt.”

Ford will be a member of Pat Narduzzi’s secondary soon and I asked him about the possibility of a future defensive backfield of him, Wade, Damar Hamlin and Jordan Whitehead.

“Oh man, that’s DB U right there. That would be the real DB U right there. Those 4 guys right there, we would be able to compete with any receiving group in the whole nation.”

DB U, sounds good! ( Pitt fans, can you get that trending on Twitter?)

Pitt is fortunate to have a player of Ford’s talent locked up and 100% committed to them.  Despite repeatedly stating that he’s a Pitt Panther, big name schools keep calling.

“Florida State and ‘Bama come at me heavy all the time but I tell them I’m solid with Pitt,” said Ford. “I don’t want to go any other place but home. They tell me to just come down and take a look but I just feel like I’m brainwashed on Pitt. I don’t want to go anywhere else.”
