Pitt Close To Offering White?

Published

on

For months, the Pitt Panther coaching staff has evaluated and scouted Ohio athlete Jarell White. To this point, Pat Narduzzi hasn’t extended a scholarship offer, however, that could be changing soon.

White (5-10, 200) is a 4-star RB/DB from Cincinnati, Ohio and has been on Pitt’s radar for many months. This star athlete has visited Pitt to work out for the coaches but didn’t receive an offer. At the time, I was told that the staff was unsure about what position White would project to in college.

It looks as though White is a prospect the Panther coaches haven’t given up on.

“I’ve been talking to Pitt for a while now,” said White. “I pretty much talk to the offensive guys more now than the defense. Me being able to play multiple positions makes it harder for them but I’ve come to the conclusion that I will just stick with running back on the next level.

White’s future position might be up in the air but what isn’t up for debate is the fact that he’s a big time prospect. According to Rivals, White is one of the top 20 athletes in the country and the #11 overall prospect in the state of Ohio.

Right now, White holds offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky and Purdue. Louisville and Indiana are two schools that could be close to offering.

What about Pitt? What are they telling White?

“The offer would probably come after my season just because they want to see some film. If I were to get the offer from Pitt, I would definitely put them in my Top 3 easily,” said White.

“I just like how everybody at Pitt is chasing one goal and everyone is on the same page. They have a great school with a great campus and the football program is on the come up real soon,” said White.

White tells me that there’s a chance he will visit Pitt next weekend for the Marshall game.
