UIt’s Pitt GameDay! The Panthers open up ACC play and they take on the defending champion. Since joining the ACC, Pitt is 0-3 vs. North Carolina, with all three losses coming by 7 points or less.

UPDATE (5:53 PM)-

**ONCE AGAIN, Pitt stops any momentum by North Carolina by responding to NC’s TD with one of their own   Pitt goes back up by 10  late in the 3rd QTR

UPDATE (5:39 PM)-

**Man this defense isn’t very good right now. After going up 10, NC in less than 3 minutes scores a TD to cut the lead to 3 points

UPDATE (5:29 PM)-

**What a drive by Pitt and Chawntez Moss!!  See why the Pitt coaches like him!

UPDATE (5:27 PM)-

**That stop by the defense to start the 2nd half could turn out to be big

UPDATE (4:36 PM)-

**What a response drive by Pitt, 39 yard pass to James Conner, then a 4th down conversion by Peterman followed by a 7 yard run on 3rd and 4 , then George Aston runs 3 yards for a TD  Pitt 19-7

UPDATE (4:23 PM)-

**Pitt’s poor pass defense strikes again , NC 3 pass plays and NC cuts the deficit to 12-7

UPDATE (4:19 PM)-

**Nate Peterman is 8/9 for 78 yards  and Pitt 120 total yards after 3 drives

UPDATE (4:14 PM)-

**What a job by Pitt on 3rd down, Peterman 22 yard completion to Jaymar Parrish, followed by a James Conner 1 yard TD  Pitt leads 12-0

UPDATE (4:09 PM)-

Great first quarter for Pitt, causing turnovers and on offense, 5/7 on 3rd Down

Nate Peterman was 7 of 8 for 56 yards

UPDATE (4:06 PM)/

**What a play by Price and Whitehead, force a fumble, Saleem Brightwell with recovery  in NC territory

UPDATE (4:01 PM)-

**Offensively, Pitt is spreading the ball around in the passing game and 7 players have already carried the ball.

UPDATE (3:59 PM)-

**Pitt’s 2nd drive is ruined by a bad snap and Pitt is forced to settle for a 50 yard FG.  Pitt leads 5-0

UPDATE (3:52 PM)-

**Quadree Henderson continues to gain yards on the ground, 16 yards. Then on 3rd down, Peterman completes 12 yard pass to Tre Tipton

UPDATE (3:50 PM)-

**Huge turn of events after a Ryan Switzer punt return for TD is called back because of a penalty, Ejuan Price tackles Switzer for a safety.   Pitt leads 2-0

UPDATE (3:45 PM)-

**Another true freshman has been used by Pat Narduzzi. WR Mauruce Ffrench receives a carry on the first drive and gains 6 yards

UPDATE (3:43 PM)-

**Promising first drive ends with a punt.  2 first downs included in it was a 20 yard pass to James Conner

UPDATE (2:20 PM)-

**Freshman Damar Hamlin is not on the trip with Pitt

UPDATE (1:31 PM)-

The Panthers have arrived at the stadium

UPDATE (1:15 PM)-

**My Pitt/NC prediction:  I’m expecting

Pitt’s defense to redeem itself today vs. the NC offense.  Like they did during the Penn State game, I expect them to cause a couple turnovers and get to the quarterback.

On offense, I look for someone to step up and help James Conner running the ball.  Wouldn’t be surprised to see 2 Pitt running backs with close to 100 yards rushing.  Aaron Mathews will make a big play in the passing game.
