Although Signing Day is a long ways away for the Class of 2018, the talented junior gave me 4 schools that are atop his long list.
“Pitt, Tennessee, Oklahoma and West Virginia,” said Gervin.
Oklahoma: “My relationship with Bob Stoops. They show me a lot of love.”
West Virginia: “I like their whole coaching staff.”
Tennessee: “Butch Jones, he texts me all the time. He hits me up a lot before my games.”
So, what is it about Pitt that has them on his list?
“I talk with Coach Narduzzi almost every week. We have a really good relationship. He’s made me a top priority for them. I’ve been to Pitt two times already and he always makes it feel like home. I’m real comfortable with them,” said Gervin.
“I do feel like a priority to them and that’s real important. The way I feel is that any school that is making me a top priority then I’m interested in them.”
Don’t look for Gervin to make a college decision anytime soon, he tells me that his plan is to announce his choice right before his senior season.
Any plans to visit Pitt again soon?
“Yeah, right after my season is done. My mom and I are coming sometime in December.”
