Pitt will play St. Louis in a neutral site game at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, according to Jon Rothstein of FanRagsSports.com
The Panthers and Billikens will take to the home floor of the Brooklyn Nets in an afternoon tip on Wednesday, Nov. 21. before the NIT Season Tip-Off Tournament takes place later that evening.
Over the years, New York has been something of a home away from home for Pitt basketball. They played three games at the Barclays Center in 2017-18, losses to Penn State and Oklahoma State in the Legends Classic in November and a loss to Notre Dame in the ACC Tournament in March.
In 2016-17 the played five games in the area, with two games at Madison Square Garden in the 2K Classic, one at Newark’s Prudential Center in the Never Forget Tribute Classic and two more at Barclays Center in the ACC Tournament.
Since the Petersen Events Center opened in 2002, Pitt has played 61 games at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Meadowlands Arena and Prudential Center in North Jersey.
Pitt is 3-4 all-time at Barclays Center and has lost four straight there. The Panthers are 1-3 all-time against St. Louis. The last meeting was a 69-58 victory for Pitt at Petersen Events Center in 2007. The other three meetings all occurred in the 1950s.
St. Louis will face a Pittsburgh-based opponent three times in 2018-19. The Billikens are one of Duquesne’s five home-and-home opponents that were announced by the Atlantic 10 conference on Wednesday.
