The Atlantic-10 conference has announced the schedule pairings for the 2017-18 men’s basketball season.
The Duquesne Dukes will play 18 conference games, with four of the coming against teams that participated in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
The Dukes will visit Davidson, George Mason, La Salle and Richmond, host Massachusetts, Rhode Island, St. Joseph’s and VCU, and will play home-and-home series with Dayton, Fordham, George Washington, St. Bonaventure and St. Louis.
Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure and Davidson all played in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Duquesne went 7-11 in Atlantic-10 play in 2017-18, with a 5-4 conference record at A.J. Palumbo Center. The seven conference wins were the most for the Dukes since they went 7-9 in 2011-12 in Ron Everhart’s final season.
The Dukes finished tied for tenth place in the 14-team conference in last season. Richmond ended Duquesne’s season with a second-round loss in the 2018 Atlantic-10 Tournament in Washington, D.C. The 2019 Atlantic 10 Tournament will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The Dukes will have pretty much an entirely new squad for 2018-19, with five transfers and seven incoming freshmen.
