Following their dramatic, last-second NEC Title win over Central Connecticut State, Duquesne found out their first-round FCS playoffs opponent.

Jerry Schmitt’s team will travel to Towson next Saturday for their first-round matchup. Kickoff from Johnny Unitas Stadium is set for 2 p.m.

Towson finished the 2018 season with a record of 7-4. They competed in the Colonial Athletic Association. This will be the Tigers first playoff game since 2013.

This will be Duquesne’s second ever trip to the FCS Playoffs. Back in 2015, the Dukes took on William and Mary, which is also a member of the Colonial Athletic Association, and lost by a score of 52-49.

This is the first ever meeting between Duquesne and Towson.

Towson’s task will be trying to stop the Big Three from Duquesne: quarterback Daniel Parr, running back A.J. Hines and wide receiver Nehari Crawford.

In yesterday’s win, Parr was 23 of 33 for 277 yards and 2 touchdowns while Hines rushed for 131 yards and Crawford caught 10 passes for 124 yards, including the game-winning touchdown reception.
