Here’s a quick update on the recruitment of 2019 athlete Alante Brown, who recently received an offer from Pitt.

The two headlines from this weekend are that Brown made an official visit to Florida State and that he officially announced that he was de-committing from Michigan State.

Brown had been committed to Michigan State for a while but choose not to sign with them during the December Signing Period. That was a bit of surprise since he was born in East Lansing, Michigan and repeatedly stated that he wanted to play wide receiver for the Spartans.

Following his weekend official visit to Tallahassee, all signs point toward Florida State being the clear-cut leader for his services. However, he plans on making one more official visit this coming weekend and is considering Pitt.

Last night, Pittsburgh Sports Now traded messages with Brown, who told us a few things. Despite playing quarterback in high school, he tells me that Pitt is recruiting him to play wide receiver. Brown also said that he’s spoken to Pat Narduzzi but that Archie Collins has made visits to Illinois to see him.

Who will get his last official visit? 247 Sports reports that it’s between Pitt, Iowa State, Tennessee and Texas Tech.
