Former Thomas Jefferson and Michigan defensive lineman Chase Winovich was selected in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday.
Winovich, a 6-foot-3, 225 pound defensive end, spent five seasons with the Wolverines, amassing 166 total tackles and 18.5 sacks.
As a senior in 2018, he played in 13 games, recording 33 tackles, five sacks and a fumble recovery.
Winovich went to Michigan as a four-star prospect out of Thomas Jefferson. He joins Miles Sanders (Woodland Hills) as the second former WPIAL player drafted tonight.
