Recruiting the WPIAL with Alan & Mike: Norwin QB Jack Salopek

This spring, Alan Saunders and Mike Vukovcan of Pittsburgh Sports Now are touring the WPIAL and interviewing the best players and prospects.

The first stop on spring tour of the WPIAL is Norwin High School, where Alan interviewed Class of 2020 quarterback Jack Salopek, who has offers from Pitt, Duquesne, Dartmouth, Harvard, UMass, Western Michigan, Yale and Youngstown State.

Pitt has been recruiting Salopek since his sophomore year and he received a scholarship offer from head coach Pat Narduzzi last summer.

As a junior, Salopek threw for 1,790 yards, completed 51.3 percent of his passes and had 15 touchdowns compared to just four interceptions. The 15 scoring plays tied him for the lead in WPIAL Class 6A.

Salopek hopes to make his decision this summer, and is finalizing his plans for the final run stage of his recruiting process.
