Is Florida RB Henry Parrish Still Committed to Pitt?

The biggest problem in getting a commitment from a talented player early is fighting off other programs and keeping him committed.

That’s the issue facing Pitt and Florida 3-star running back Henry Parrish.

Despite committing to Pitt back in June, major Power Five programs continued to actively recruit him and that increased following his week one record breaking performance.

The recruitment by other programs appears to have worked as Parrish just completed an official visit and could be taking more in the near future.

This past weekend, Parrish made an official visit to South Carolina and will likely make one soon to Ohio State and also to the latest school getting involved.

Last night, Parrish received an offer from USC and he tells me that he’ll make an official visit there.

Considering all of this, it’s fair to wonder if Parrish is actually still committed to Pitt or is his recruitment open?

Wedneday night, Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up with Parrish to get an update and some answers.

Considering all the attention he’s receiving, is it hard for him to stay truly committed to Pitt?

”No not really, I really don’t pay attention to the people outside,” Parrish told PSN.

As you’d imagine, Pat Narduzzi and his staff are fighting hard to keep this talented player who could be in the mix for the starting job next year.

”Yes, they been in contact with me every other day,” said Parrish.

Despite technically still being committed to Pitt, Parrish agreed with me that this is a fair way to describe where things stand with him and Pitt.

Henry Parrish is committed to Pitt right now but whether or not he stays with them will be determined by how visits over next couple months of visits go.

So in other words he is not commited. He is looking for the best offer and something better. I would just stop recruiting him. Wish him well and find someone else that really wants to play here.

For a lot of these top players it’s the best time of their lives. Most will never play in the NFL, so they should consider every option. A good coach recognizes this and keeps them grounded and committed, and doesn’t throw a hissy fit and say good bye to top rated players for enjoying their time in the sun.

Just maybe Coach’s RB situation is struggling for a reason (Wink Wink). I’m not saying the struggles are intentional. Not saying he wouldn’t end up playing (Starting) at any of the other schools but It is a tremendous selling point. A lot of RB go to the Big Brand Schools and playing time and touches are hard to come by. However if he commits to PITT he will be The Feature Back IMMEDIATELY! I hope he stays committed. With the way the D is playing and Pickett improving adding him to the mix next year… WOW!!! I’m feeling all Pringly.… Read more »
