He also led a suffocating defensive effort that led to the Hawks putting up one of their worst offensive performances of the season. St. Joe’s shot 28.8% from the floor and 14.3% from 3-point range, their worst and second-worst percentages of the season, respectively.

The only reason the game was a close as the 18-pound final margins was the Hawks’ 26-8 advantage on the offensive boards.

Duquesne never trailed in the contest, opening up a 22-9 lead by the midway point of the first half after a Lamar Norman steal and dunk. It was a 15-point Duquesne advantage at the half. The Dukes then went on an 11-0 run to start the second half, effectively putting the game out of reach.

Sincere Carry had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists. Baylee Steele had 12 points and seven rebounds. Maceo Austin added 11 points.
