2020 3-Star Forward Toby Okani Commits To Duquesne

  1. The Duquesne Dukes have added another talented player to their 2020 recruiting class.

Three-star forward Toby Okani from Cushing Academy in West Orange, New Jersey gave a verbal commitment to Keith Dambrot and the Dukes. Aside from Duquesne, Okani (6-foot-7, 180 pounds) received offers from Minnesota, UMass, Hofstra, Fairfield, Mount St. Mary’s and St. Peters.

The Duquesne program is getting a player that’s a solid athlete with good dimensions. Okani can guard all positions on the perimeter defensively. Okani is a master of nothing but has a good skillset. He can shoot from range and off the dribble and handle the ball some and could grow into a secondary ball handler. In summary, Duquesne is adding a high upside player that will be much better after adding strength to his skill and whose best days are ahead of him.

Duquesne's 2024 March Madness Tournament coverage is sponsored by Leon's Billiards & More, Moon Golf Club and Archie's on Carson! Their contributions have allowed us to cover the Dukes run in Omaha, Nebraska. We appreciate their support!

Okani becomes the sixth member of Duquesne’s Class of 2020 joining 3-star forward Andre Harris, 3-star point guard Tyson Acuff, shooting guard Jett Roesing, small forward Chad Baker and combo guard Mikey Bekelja. Keep in mind, the only one of these players that have officially signed with Duquesne are Acuff and Roesing.

The New Jersey native is someone the Duquesne staff has been after since last summer as he received an offer and made an official visit back in July.
