Peters Township’s Donovan McMillon Sets First Official Visit

Peters Township’s safety Donovan McMillon has been in the news seemingly every week since December.

Earlier this week, 247 Sports elevated McMillon up to a 4-star recruit, which was inevitable with the parade of offers he’s received since the end of his junior season.

At the end of March, McMillon took the first step in determining his future college when he released his Top 15 schools, which included Pitt, Arizona State, Duke, Cincinnati, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, Purdue, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.

However, that list of top schools is most likely invalid because after announcing it, McMillon has since picked up offers from top programs such as Tennessee, LSU, Stanford, Georgia and Miami.

The travel ban has prevented McMillon and other high school players from making college visits but it hasn’t prevented him from determining one of his five official visits. Pittsburgh Sports Now has confirmed that McMillon has decided that he will be making an official visit to Virginia Tech. Currently, the date for that trip is set for June 19-21.

PSN has been told that while McMillon is attempting to schedule possible official and unofficial visits, no others have been able to be confirmed as of yet. The uncertainty of availability of flights is an issue as well.

When examining the schools on McMillon’s list that are possible to get to without flying, those schools would include Cincinnati, Duke, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue and Virginia Tech.
