Former McKeesport and Michigan linebacker Khaleke Hudson has been drafted by the Washington Redskins with the 162nd selection in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft

Hudson started his final three seasons at Michigan as their “Viper” hybrid outside linebacker. In 114 games with the Wolverines, Hudson had 225 tackles, including 101 as a senior. He also had 23 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, two interceptions and 14 passes defended.

At the 2020 NFL Combine, Hudson ran a 4.56 40-yard dash and performed 30 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, showing a nice combination of speed and strength for a somewhat undersized linebacker at 5-foot-11 and 224 pounds.

The Redskins also took an outside linebacker with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, choosing Chase Young out of Ohio State.

Hudson was the second WPIAL players selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, following Imani Christian grad Kenny Robinson, who was taken by the Carolina Panthers earlier in the fifth round.

He’s the first McKeesport player to be drafted since Brandon Short in the fourth round of the 2000 NFL Draft.

Congratulations! They got a heck of a ball player. However, if he would’ve stayed home (Pitt), he would have been drafted in top 3 rounds! He never played up to his ability at Michigan. Good luck!!!
