The Pitt women’s basketball team has a late addition to their Class of 2020 as Friday, head coach Lance White announced the signing of point guard Sandrine Clesca.

The 5-foot-9 guard is a native of Montreal, Quebec and rated as a 4-star prospect. Last season, Clesca moved to North Carolina and played for Winston-Salem Christian School, where they finished with a record of 28-2 and were ranked #25 in the country.

While playing in Canada, Clesca was invited to the U17 Canada Women’s National Team and was an MVP of various Quebec leagues.

”The addition of Sandrine is one that we are extremely excited about,” said White. “She is one of the top players to come out of Canada this year, and we think Sandrine can grow into a really special player for us. She is an athletic point guard who has the ability to not only score and attack the rim, but also understands how to create for others.”

Clesca becomes the 6th addition to the Panthers 2020-21 roster joining freshman Tracey Hueston, Liatu King, Taisha Exanor and transfers Destiny Strother and Jayla Everett.
