Pitt wide receiver DJ Turner has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference wide receiver of the week, the league announced on Monday.
Turner, a redshirt senior, set career highs in catches and receiving yards in Pitt’s loss to NC State on Saturday, while posting Pitt’s top statistical receiving day since 2004.
Turner caught eight passes for 186 yards on Saturday, the most by a Panthers player since Greg Lee in 2004.
On the season, Turner has 17 catches for 319 yards and one touchdown. His receiving yards total leads the ACC and is eighth in the nation.
Turner joined Pitt late in the offseason, after transferring from Maryland when the Big Ten announced it would not play this fall. The conference later reversed that decision and will begin play later this month.
