Pitt Basketball Staff Meeting Today With First Love 2021 F Mustapha Amzil

Now that they’ve officially extended him an offer, the Pitt basketball staff will have their first extensive conversation this morning with First Love 2021 forward Mustapha Amzil.

Amzil received his offer from Pitt last week and he tells PSN that he’ll be having a Zoom visit with the entire Pitt coaching staff this morning starting at 10 a.m. A few days ago, Amzil did the same with the coaching staffs from Oklahoma State and St. John’s.

The native of Finland, who moved to the United States just in the last couple of weeks, currently holds offers from Pitt, Oklahoma State, Boston College, St. John’s, Maryland and Dayton and has received recent calls from North Carolina and Georgetown.

The 6-foot-10 Amzil is an intriguing prospect to programs because of his ability to score from all three levels, especially from the outside. At the FIBA U18 European Championship, Amzil averaged 12.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Along with his offensive skills, Amzil is a very skilled shot blocker and has the ability to alter shots around the rim.

Amzil is one of three players on the 2020 First Love team to hold offers from Pitt, along with 2022 point guard Mason Manning and 2022 forward Fray Nguimbi.
