Pitt Conducts Second Meeting Of Week with First Love’s Mustapha Amzil

For the second time in the last week, the entire Pitt basketball staff has spoken with First Love 2021 forward Mustapha Amzil.

Pittsburgh Sports Now is told that Jeff Capel and his assistants conducted a Zoom interview with Amzil, as they continue to pursue this fast rising recruit. Pitt’s first in-depth conversation with Amzil took place two days ago also via Zoom.

While it might seem unusual to have these type of calls so close together, I’m told it’s really not. In fact, Amzil has done the exact same thing recently with the staff from Dayton.

In terms of the difference in the two Zoom calls, the one on Monday morning was the Pitt staff basically introducing themselves to Amzil. With Amzil just arriving to the United States from Finland in the last few weeks and since it was their first time talking, Jeff Capel, Tim O’Toole, Milan Brown and Jason Capel all wanted Amzil to get to know them as people before talking basketball.

The subject matter this afternoon dealt with the Pitt program itself, how they see Amzil fitting in and the impact he could make, along with their style of play both offensively and defensively along with the campus life at Pitt, including housing.

PSN is told that up next for Amzil will be Zoom calls with Archie Miller and Indiana along with coaches from DePaul.
