Pitt Opens as 9.5-Point Underdogs to Notre Dame

Published

Pitt has opened as a 9.5-point underdogs for this Saturday’s home game against No. 3 Notre Dame, according to odds released on Sunday by BetOnline.ag.

The 3-3 Panthers have lost three straight games, dropping a 31-19 decision at now-No. 11 Miami on Saturday after a pair of one-point losses to Boston College and NC State. Pitt had started the season 3-0.

The Panthers are 0-4 against the spread after failing to cover the 11.5-point line at Miami. Pitt lost outright as favorites over both the Eagles and Wolfpack. The Panthers’ three-point win against Louisville resulted in a push. Pitt did not cover 20.5 points against Syracuse and the opener against Austin Peay was taking off betting boards because the second half was played with just 10-minute quarters.

Notre Dame is 4-0, with wins over Duke, South Florida, Florida State and Louisville.

The Irish are also 1-3 against the spread, covering 23.5 in a 52-0 win over the Bulls, but failing to meet the line in any of their other three victories.

Saturday’s game will be played at Heinz Field with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. Pitt will host 5,500 fans at the stadium for the first time this season.

Pitt and Notre Dame have played 70 times overall, with the Irish holding a 48-21-1 advantage. The longtime foes have less frequently since Pitt joined the ACC, with the Irish winning in 2015 in Pittsburgh and 2018 in South Bend. Pitt last beat Notre Dame in 2013.

Is Pickett playing? If not, they won’t cover the spread.

Louisville held ND to 12 points. Let’s get after it Defense! And Whipple… V. Davis is averaging 2.8 ypc, the lowest by any teams leading rusher in the ACC. Please tell me you are going to come out with a different plan this week!!

Need a better OC and QB, O-line, TE, WR, RB coaches than what is currently deployed. Because The QB has No Time, the o-line can’t Pass Protect or Run Block, RB’s can’t Run, And the TE’s WR’s and RB’s can’t pull in the Clutch Catch to keep drives alive. And they have no deep threat. The Offense is really B A D !
Smelly B A D!
Rancid Bad
IT STINKS.

Heather better have the fire going. 6 years?! And they’re going backwards
