The title of this feature is Beyond the Box Score and every week, we take an in-depth look at some of the numbers from Pitt’s game and bring up historical context, compare them to peers and more.
But it’s awfully hard to judge a lot based on the statistics from a game that got out of hand early after the Pitt coaching staff basically threw in the towel and finished like a glorified scrimmage, with both teams emptying their benches.
There is one number from the box score that we can definitely use and make relevant, though.
