Texas 3-Star Athlete Che Nwabuko Puts Pitt In Top 5, Talks About Upcoming Visit

Adding overall team speed has been a big objective in this seasons recruiting efforts by the Pitt coaches as they’ve targeted many athletes that compete in track.

One of those type players that the staff and in particular Brennan Marion targeted was 2022 speedster Che Nwabuko from Manor High School in Manor, Texas. Those recruiting efforts have paid off, to this point, as Nwabuko has placed Pitt in his Top Five. The 3-star running back/slot receiver released his top schools today which included: Pitt, Michigan, Purdue, Marshall and Liberty.

“My dad and I talked it over and came up with the Top Five,” Nwabuko tells Pittsburgh Sports Now. “It was a fun decision because it was my first big decision regarding college and looking forward towards it. Picking my top five schools, I went with the schools that I felt like were highly interested in me.”

“Pitt made my top five because Coach Marion really was big and helped me to know a lot about Pitt. He’s made me feel like a key person that they need and want up there. Coach Marion believes that with the speed that I have, that I can be a big playmaker up there and I can be a difference maker in the slot and really getting me involved.  I’m really looking forward to really finding out what they’re all about when I go up there next week on my official visit. I’m really looking forward to seeing Pitt’s facilities because I hear that the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt are associated with one another. Pitt is kind of like an NFL factory.”

Nwabuko will be part of the group that makes their Pitt official visit next weekend. Tomorrow, Nwabuko will make his official visit to Marshall. Following that, he’s looking to make a trip to Purdue in July and then to Michigan sometime during the season.
