On Wednesday, the WPIAL granted eligibility to one of the most talented newcomers the conference has seen in years, Debaba Tshiebwe.

Tshiebwe is a 6-foot-6, 265-pound athlete who plans to play both football and basketball for Central Catholic, after transferring in from Grand River Academy in Ohio.
The brother of former West Virginia and now Kentucky big man Oscar Tshiebwe, Debaba holds a division one offer from Bryant.
According to a report by Triblive.com, the WPIAL decided that Tshiebwe will also be eligible for the playoffs.
“The PIAA postseason rule that makes most transfers sit out the playoffs doesn’t apply to Tshiebwe because he didn’t play high school basketball last season,” said reporter Chris Harlan.
Just ask his handler what to write about him. He’ll be the one making all of the decisions anyway…
