On Friday, Jeff Capel decided to promote one of his assistants, Milan Brown, up to the Associate Head Coach position, per release.
“Milan has done a terrific job in all aspects with our program,” Capel said in the release. “Not only is he an outstanding coach and recruiter but he does a great job mentoring our players off the court. I have been and continue to be impressed with his commitment to bettering our program, our student-athletes and the university.”
Brown, a DMV-native, served as the head coach at Holy Cross as well as Mount St. Marys before his time in Pittsburgh. He has been the main recruiter for prospects that Pitt has targeted in the DMV-area and has lots of coaching connections from his illustrious career in basketball.
Brown has been with Pitt since 2018, and was hired just weeks after Capel took over the program. Directly prior to his position at Pitt, he served as an assistant coach at Charleston.
According to the release, associate head coach Tim O’Toole’s position has not changed.
Pitt should have shelled out the money and brought Antigio Brown back home before Callipri grabed him and helped him recruit the #1 class in2021. Capel continues to be a teaser, who will be gone next year unless Hughley and Jefferes can be impact players with no experience from last year. Then offer Antigua H.C. job in 2022.
