Daniel Skillings Commits to Cincinnati

Published

on

On Thursday, four-star wing Daniel Skillings committed to Cincinnati over Pitt, NC State, and a few others.

“I’m going to Cincinnati,” Skillings told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “Cincinnati separated themselves from others, from how much support they gave me, how the whole coaching staff was there, showing how they prioritized me in a huge way! Program was different then others in good ways too! This commitment means the world to me and my father and family! And coach. My coach/trainer, I came from nothing and worked my ass off to make it here! This moment is very special to me. I feel so confident on committing. And I’m ready to give the Bearcats My all!”

Skillings was one of Pitt’s priority targets towards the end of the summer, ever since Pitt offered him on Aug. 17. After he picked up the offer, Skillings included the Panthers in his top ten, then his top five, and eventually took an official visit to Pitt. However, in the end, he found his home at Cincinnati.

Gotta say it’s getting a bit disconcerting to see Capel continue to swing and miss with so many of his targets. And it’s not like he’s losing them to Duke or NC.

So gratifying that the Panthers have such an exceptional recruiter. The program is in worse shape than when he took over. What a joke

This is getting old ! 1 recruit for 2022. And after the pathetic 2021 class we need 3 or 4 really good players.

Blame the morons writing about these potential recruits… I know there’s nothing to do in Pittsburgh, but these clowns need to find a hobby.

The Pete is a dump already. The school is in a sprawling ghetto. The program has been irrelevant since 2016. Why would any quality player want to play at Pitt? That program is completely dead. This years team will make you long for the days on Kevin Stallings.

If that happens then capel is fired and there is little hope Pitt basketball ever becomes relevant.
I’m excited to see hughley and William jeffress. Stallings had 2 or 3 division 1 players. Although no superstar, this team has 8 or 9 guys capable of playing division 1

To be determined after they play the first 8 high school teams on each years schedule.

More wasted coverage on a player we never had a shot at…

When I read that some four star kid has Pitt in his top whatever, I look at his offers and chose where he is going to go. Its never Pitt, get it right sometimes but not always except in Pitt’s case.

Hugley-4 star, Jeffress-4 star, McGowans-4 star. Including Mintz that makes four in four years for “they guy.” Anything else?

Skillings isn’t coming to Pitt? Whoa, what a surprise. How did Capel miss on this one? We all know how good his recruiting track record is. Whiff.
